Ghana and Art: A successful exhibition opening

September 11, 2013

Mr. Nabanyin Pratt, immediate past Dean of GIMPA gave a provocative speech to open Annan and Victor’s exhibition on African Culture and the Environment.

Mr. Pratt did much more than highlight the importance of art in depicting man’s relationship with the environment. He stated the truth: art is a multi-billion dollar industry and it is about time Ghana takes the business more seriously. This means more than simply buying more art. It means parents respecting children who show interest or talent in art. It means Ministers supporting arts education. There are hundreds of talented young artists in Ghana who, with the proper guidance and opportunities, will contribute to the country’s growth and international status.

Annan’s painting works will be displayed at Novotel Hotel until September 29th.  Stop by to see why Ghanaian art can move the country forward.
